About Dr Muhammad Rafiq

Dr Muhammad Rafiq, widely known as Abu Saif, is an Islamic scholar, teacher, and researcher with a strong background in traditional Islamic sciences, Hadith studies, and international Islamic education. His scholarly journey combines classical Islamic learning with modern academic research, allowing him to explain Islamic guidance in a clear, practical, and accessible way.

He spent the first years of his childhood in Makkah, where he was exposed to the Arabic language, Quranic learning, and the spiritual environment surrounding the Haram. Dr Rafiq was born in Pakistan in 1976 and spent the first fifteen years of his childhood in Makkah, Saudi Arabia. During those early years, he grew up close to the environment of the Haram and developed a natural connection with the Arabic language, Quranic learning, and Islamic scholarship.

His father, Muhammad Yousaf, worked in the service of Sheikh Abdullah bin Sabil, the Imam of the Grand Mosque. This allowed Dr Muhammad Rafiq to spend his early years in a deeply religious and educational environment. He received his early schooling at Uthman bin Affan School in the Shisha/Aziziyah area near Mina and also memorised ten parts of the Holy Quran during his time in Makkah.

After returning to Pakistan around 1989–1990, he continued his formal religious education. He later studied traditional Islamic sciences, including Arabic grammar, Islamic studies, and advanced religious texts, which became the foundation of his scholarly journey.

During his educational journey, he studied at institutions such as Jamia Azizia Sahiwal, Satiana Bangla, Jamia Salafia Faisalabad, and Markaz al-Tarbiya. His learning was shaped by respected teachers, including Maulana Atiqullah, Hafiz Sharif, Hafiz Masood Alam, and Sheikh Abdullah Amjad Chhatwi.

These teachers influenced different aspects of his scholarly personality, including depth of study, clarity in explanation, gentleness in teaching, and analytical understanding of Islamic knowledge. This training later became an important part of his own teaching style, especially in explaining Arabic grammar, Hadith, and Islamic guidance to students in a structured and practical way.

Muhammad Rafiq has served as a teacher and educator in several respected Islamic institutions. His teaching career includes work with advanced students of Islamic sciences, especially in areas related to Arabic grammar, Hadith, Fiqh, and structured religious education.

He taught at institutions such as Markaz al-Tarbiya al-Islamiyya in Faisalabad, Jamia Salafia Faisalabad, Quran College Phool Nagar, and Jamia Salafia Islamabad. In addition to teaching, he also served in academic and administrative roles, helping students develop a stronger understanding of Islamic knowledge through organised study and practical explanation.

His years of teaching have allowed him to work with students from different backgrounds, both in Pakistan and abroad. This experience helped shape his method of explaining complex Islamic subjects in a clear, step-by-step, and accessible manner.

Online Education

Dr Muhammad Rafiq’s teaching and da’wah work has also reached Muslim communities outside Pakistan. He spent several years in the United Arab Emirates, where he worked as an Islamic preacher and delivered Friday sermons and educational lectures in different settings.

He also became involved in online Islamic education at an early stage, teaching students through international platforms and institutes connected with Muslim communities in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Norway, and other regions. His strong Arabic background, teaching experience, and command of Islamic sciences helped him communicate religious knowledge to students from different countries.

This international exposure gave him a wider understanding of the questions and challenges faced by Muslims living in different societies. It also strengthened his focus on making Islamic guidance clear, practical, and accessible for people seeking reliable answers in the modern world.

After returning to Pakistan, Dr Muhammad Rafiq continued his educational and da’wah work through modern media platforms. He launched Al Ehsaan TV with the aim of spreading verified Islamic knowledge to audiences who may not always have access to reliable online resources.

One of the important goals behind this media work is to reach people in areas where internet access is limited and satellite television remains an important source of learning. Through this platform, Islamic lectures, Quran lessons, scholarly discussions, and educational programs can reach wider communities in a consistent and accessible way.

Dr Muhammad Rafiq has also emphasized the importance of preserving the knowledge of senior scholars through high-quality audio and video recordings. His media vision is not only to deliver current religious guidance, but also to archive scholarly knowledge for future generations.
